Asheville Savings Bank highly values its customers' privacy, because our customers' trust is our most treasured asset. Be assured that our corporate focus continues to be the protection of your privacy in your dealings with us; therefore, when federal privacy laws were enacted, we did not have to make any fundamental changes to our policy or practices to be in full compliance with them.

It continues to be the policy of Asheville Savings Bank to assure that the information it has about its customers is accurate, and that the information is highly confidential and should only be available to persons who have a need for the information to properly service a customer's account, act upon a customer's request or to fulfill that person's job responsibility within Asheville Savings Bank.  We are also equally committed to protecting the privacy of customer information on our website(s).

Asheville Savings Bank has extensive security procedures that ensure its confidentiality policy is followed.  Customer information is maintained in paper-based files and electronic databases.  All paper-based files are kept under secure control and are restricted to bank personnel who have a need for access to the information in the files to properly carry out his or her job responsibilities.

Our automated systems have multiple passwords, user identifications and terminal identifications that limit each employee's access to information in the systems to that information that he or she requires to properly carry out his or her job responsibility.  In addition, Asheville Savings Bank has a complex system of "firewalls" surrounding its automated systems to ensure that access by unauthorized persons is prevented.  We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.  We encourage you to be equally diligent as you follow steps to protect against unauthorized access to your accounts and information.

To offer you the information protection that you deserve we use data encryption and fraud detection systems and employ stringent internal and external security standards.  Our employees are trained to understand the importance of confidentiality and protection of sensitive information.  We do not sell mailing lists or other customer information to outside marketing firms and we continue to protect your privacy rights even if you close your accounts or become an inactive customer.

Please remember that although we make every effort to safeguard your personal information, third parties may have access to information related to Asheville Savings Bank customers that has been obtained independently from us.  Third parties may obtain this personal information through the use of public records such as real estate transaction filings, for example, or by using consumer-reporting agencies that issue credit bureau reports.  Please be advised that we are not able to control any mailings or solicitations based on these sources of personal information.

Please contact us (828-254-7411 or toll free 800-222-3230) if you have any questions about the confidentiality of your personal information, or visit a Banking Center to talk with our staff.  We thank you for allowing Asheville Savings Bank to be your bank of choice in Western North Carolina.
